Types and Applications of Chemical packing

The types of chemical packings can be divided into ceramic bulk packings, metal bulk packings, metal structured packings, and plastic bulk packings according to their materials.

Chemical packings are widely used in drying towers, absorption towers, cooling towers, washing towers, and regeneration towers in industries such as oil refining, metallurgy, gas, and oxygen production, playing a supporting, covering, and filtering role.

Ceramic packing

Material: Ceramic material, with excellent acid and heat resistance.

Features: It is resistant to corrosion by various inorganic acids, organic acids, and organic solvents except hydrofluoric acid. It is used in various high and low temperature situations and has a wide range of applications.

Application: Ceramic packing can be used for drying towers, absorption towers, cooling towers, washing towers, distillation towers, atmospheric towers, synthesis towers, catalytic towers, regeneration towers, etc. in industries such as chemical, metallurgical, gas, and oxygen production.

Ceramic packing are divided into ceramic bulk packing (raschig ring, pall ring, cascade ring, cross-partition ring, intalox saddle ring,etc.) and ceramic structured packing.

Plastic packing

Material: PP, PE, RPP, PVC, CPVC, PVDF and other materials.

Features: It has the characteristics of light weight, heat resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. Plastic packings have large voids, low pressure drop and mass transfer unit height, high flooding point, sufficient gas-liquid contact, and high mass transfer efficiency.

Application: The operating temperature in various media is 60-280 ℃, and plastic packings are widely used in packing towers in petroleum, chemical, chlor alkali, gas, environmental protection, and other fields.

Plastic packings are divided into plastic bulk packings (raschig ring,pall ring, multi-sided hollow ball, Heilex ring,High flow ring, intalox saddle ring,teller rosette ring,conjugate ringinner arc (VSP) ring,snowflake ring, hexagonal ring,tri pack ball,cascade mini ring, floating ball, liquid surface covering ball, etc.) and plastic structured packings.

Metal packing

Material: carbon steel, stainless steel 304/316L, and composite gold.

Features: Metal packings have the advantages of thin wall, resistance to cold and heat, high porosity, high flux, reduced pressure, low resistance, good separation effect, and long service life. Although the one-time investment is slightly larger, they can fully utilize the potential of the equipment.

Application: Metal packings are suitable for vacuum distillation towers to handle materials that are allergic, easy to decompose, easy to tighten, and easy to form carbon. Metal fillers are widely used in packed towers in industries such as petrochemicals, fertilizers, chemicals, and environmental protection.

Metal packings are divided into metal bulk packing (raschig ring,super raschig ring,pall ring, intalox saddle ring, cascade mini ring, conjugate ring,inner arc (VSP) ring,teller rosette ring etc.) and metal structured packing (Perforated plate corrugated packing, Wire gauze corrugated packing,etc)
