Metal honeycomb substrate is a honeycomb porous base material made of stainless steel shell and corrugated FeCrAl alloy foil through coil welding process. It is mainly used to support catalytic coatings (Pt, Pd, Rh) or act as thermal exchange core material, widely applied in automobile exhaust purification, industrial waste gas treatment, aerospace thermal protection and other fields.

How does it work?

Crafted from FeCrAl alloy foil, metal honeycomb substrate boasts a dense, honeycomb-like structure with uniform micro-channels—acting like a "catalytic reactor" for exhaust gas purification. It is loaded with catalytic coatings and noble metals (Pt, Pd, Rh) and features excellent high-temperature resistance, enabling stable operation under extreme exhaust temperatures. When high-temperature exhaust gas passes through these tiny channels, the noble metal catalysts trigger chemical reactions that convert harmful pollutants into harmless substances, with key reactions as follows:
1. Carbon monoxide oxidation: 2CO + O₂ = 2CO₂
2. Hydrocarbon oxidation:  2CxHy + (2x+y/2)O₂ = 2xCO₂ + yH₂O
3. Nitrogen oxide reduction: 2NOx = N₂+ xO₂
With fast heat transfer, low back pressure and strong vibration resistance, it is widely used in auto exhaust purification and industrial waste gas treatment.

How to choose the suitable size for different application?

1. Small-sized (30-50mm diameter, 50-100mm length, 200-300 cpsi):
UAVs, portable generators, small marine outboard engines, small agricultural machinery, ATVs and handheld power tools (compact installation, low exhaust pollution).
2. Medium-sized (80-150mm diameter, 100-200mm length, 100-400 cpsi):
Passenger cars, light commercial vehicles (three-way catalytic cores), EV range extenders, hybrid exhaust and small emergency generators (low back pressure, fast heat-up).
3. Large-sized (180-300mm diameter, 200-400mm length, 100-200 cpsi):
Heavy-duty trucks, engineering vehicles, industrial waste gas, marine exhaust, boiler and incineration flue gas purification (large exhaust volume).
4. Customized special-sized (irregular, >300mm diameter/>400mm length, 60-600 cpsi):
Aerospace APUs, petrochemical treatment, chemical towers, gas turbines and high-temperature furnaces (harsh conditions).

1. Size & Shape: Customizable diameter (30mm~500mm+), length (50mm~400mm+), and shape (regular circular, irregular special shapes) to fit different equipment installation spaces.
2. Cell Density: Adjustable from 60 cpsi to 600 cpsi, matching different purification and catalytic requirements of various application scenarios (small power equipment, industrial waste gas treatment, aerospace).
3. Material Specifications: FeCrAl alloy foil thickness (0.03~0.08mm) can be customized, and alloy composition ratio (Cr: 18-22%, Al: 4-6%) can be adjusted based on working conditions.
4. Catalyst Loading: Customizable loading amount (5~20 g/L) and Pt/Pd/Rh noble metal ratio, adapting to different exhaust purification standards and catalytic efficiency needs.
